We Make It Here. Really!

We Make It Here. Really!

Posted by Abigail Edwards on

In the heart of Texas, we’re proud to say that Son of a Sailor jewelry and leather goods are crafted right here in our San Antonio studio. For 14 years and counting, we’ve kept our jewelry production in-house—allowing us to stay hands-on, detail-focused, and deeply connected to what we make.

From the very first sketch to the final polish, each piece is touched by our small-but-mighty team of five. When you shop Son of a Sailor, you’re not just buying jewelry, you’re supporting a studio that believes in the value of thoughtful, handmade goods.

Not Just Designed Here—Made Here

We love designing, but we also love making. That’s why pieces like the Perla Necklace and the Initial Necklace aren’t just dreamed up in our studio—they’re brought to life here too. Every pearl is strung, every initial is stamped, every clasp is attached right here at our workbenches.

We’ve always believed that the magic is in the details, and by keeping our production in-house, we get to obsess over every single one.

Because Local Isn’t Just a Buzzword

We know "handmade" and "local" get tossed around a lot, but to us, it’s not marketing—it’s a way of life. Our team doesn’t just design what we sell; we build it with our own hands, one piece at a time.

We make it. With purpose. By hand. With care.

Thanks for being part of the story, and for supporting the kind of craftsmanship that keeps creativity alive and well—right here in San Antonio.
