Billy's had one wallet idea stuck in his head for a while: quit making people choose.
If you've shopped with us for a while, you probably know our Quebec Wallet — our bestselling slimline, the one that somehow holds way more than it looks like it should. You might also know the Nan Wallet, our simple, single-compartment snap wallet that keeps things about as pared-down as a wallet can get. Between the two of them, we've pretty much had every kind of carry covered — slim and spacious, or simple and snapped shut.
But Billy wanted more. Not more wallet — we're still not talking bifold here, no "everything-but-the-kitchen-sink" territory. Just more of both of the things people loved about the Quebec and the Nan, in one design.
So, after a while (okay, a long while) of sketching, prototyping, and being a little too picky about it, we finally landed on it: the Uniform Wallet.
The Best of Both, Without the Bulk
The Uniform takes the low-profile shape people love from the Quebec and adds the satisfying solid brass snap closure from the Nan — a main pocket that snaps shut to keep your cash and cards secure, plus a secondary pocket that holds the overflow. Between the two, it comfortably carries 12–14 cards, especially once the leather starts to break in and settle into the shape of what you carry.
It's still slim. It still slides into a back pocket without a second thought. It just does a little bit more than either of its predecessors — which, if you ask Billy, was the whole point.
Jess and Billy have both carried the Quebec and the Nan for years, and we're genuinely excited to be carrying the Uniform now — it's the wallet we didn't know we were missing.
What It's Made Of
The Uniform is cut and stitched by hand in our studio from English bridle leather, sourced from Wickett & Craig, a Pennsylvania tannery that's been vegetable-tanning hides since 1867. Bridle leather is a heavier, denser cut, traditionally used for things that need to hold up to real wear — equestrian tack, belts, and structural leather goods — which is exactly why it works so well for something that's going to live in your pocket every day.
Vegetable tanning itself is a slower, more traditional process than the chrome tanning used for most leather on the market today — hides are tanned with natural tannins from tree bark rather than chemical compounds. It's a gentler process on the environment, and Wickett & Craig treats their own wastewater on-site before it goes back into local waterways, and repurposes the organic byproduct of the tanning process as fertilizer for nearby farms. It's a longer process, but it's a better one — and it shows in the leather. English bridle leather develops a deep, rich patina over time, so the Uniform you buy today will look even better a year from now.
Every snap on the Uniform is solid brass, same as it's always been for us — no plating, no shortcuts, just hardware that ages the way it's supposed to.
