Son of a Sailor is a vibrant studio storefront where we create our house line of handmade jewelry and leather goods. Alongside our own creations, we offer a thoughtfully curated gift shop featuring design-led goods that perfectly complement our style. We also provide permanent jewelry services in our studio.

We are seeking a Customer-Focused Retail Associate to join our small, tight-knit team. If you’re detail-oriented, love engaging with customers, and take pride in your work, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

• Maintain the Store: Clean and merchandise the storefront to create a welcoming and visually appealing environment.
  
• Customer Transactions: Handle purchases using Shopify (cash and credit cards).
  
• Social Media Support: Assist in creating content for our social media platforms.
  
• Permanent Jewelry Services: Learn and perform permanent jewelry services (training provided).
  
• Deliver an Exceptional Experience: Engage with customers and ensure their shopping experience is delightful and memorable.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Prior retail experience is preferred but not required. Experience with Shopify or permanent jewelry is a bonus but not necessary.
  
• Personality: Detail-oriented, customer-focused, friendly, and respectful.
  
• Hours: This position begins as a Saturday-only role, requiring 8–10 hours per week, with occasional additional hours for events. Saturdays are a key part of our schedule and are non-negotiable, though occasional shift trades with our other retail team member may be an option.
  
  While we hope to grow and expand in the future as we establish ourselves in San Antonio, applicants should plan on this schedule for the foreseeable future. This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a small, consistent hourly commitment with the potential to grow with us!
