Son of a Sailor is a vibrant studio storefront where we create our house line of handmade jewelry and leather goods. Alongside our own creations, we offer a thoughtfully curated gift shop featuring design-led goods that perfectly complement our style. We also provide permanent jewelry services in our studio.

We are seeking a Production & Retail Associate to join our small, tight-knit team. If you’re detail-oriented, love working with your hands, and enjoy engaging with customers, we’d love to hear from you!

What You’ll Do

Jewelry Production:
Assist in the production of our handmade jewelry line. You’ll work with hand tools and materials, helping to assemble, finish, and quality check our in-house pieces.

Retail Support:
Engage with customers in a warm and welcoming way, provide excellent service, and assist with finding the perfect items in our storefront.

Permanent Jewelry:
Work with customers to create their permanent jewelry pieces. (Training provided.)

Store Maintenance:
Keep the shop looking beautiful by cleaning, organizing, and supporting visual merchandising.

What We’re Looking For

Experience:
Prior experience in jewelry production or similar hands-on work is strongly preferred. Retail experience is also a plus. While we offer on-the-job training, this role is best suited to someone with a foundation in craft or studio work. Experience with Shopify or permanent jewelry is a bonus.

Hours:
This position is part-time with a consistent weekly schedule:

• Fridays 10:30am – 5:30pm
• Sundays 9:30am – 5:30pm
• Saturdays are typically off, but occasional event staffing will be required.

This role is ideal for someone seeking a steady, small hourly commitment with the potential to grow alongside our team.

Personality:
Detail-oriented, hands-on, organized, friendly, and professional.

Compensation & Perks

Hourly Rate:
$15–$17/hour, commensurate with experience.
