This Bolga Market Basket gets its name from the region of Ghana where abundant veta vera grass is woven to create these hardy, useful African baskets. Baskets are made by artisans in the Bolgatanga region of Ghana. Artisans weave these beautiful and durable baskets from thick, tough elephant grass. They are a very popular size due to their wide range of uses. Bolga baskets stand up to use. They are practical, sustainable, and remain functional and beautiful for years. Each basket is one of a kind, in a unique pattern, and the leather wrapped handle adds to the durability.
