Introducing our collaborative showpiece, the Ceramic Incense Dome – a fusion of creativity and craftsmanship. Born from the inspired collaboration between ourselves and the talented Eliana Bernard, an Austin-based ceramicist renowned for her expertise.

Crafted from tinted porcelain, the dome showcases a captivating matte black or cream hue with shiny striped detailing, embodying understated luxury. Our partnership blooms as Eliana Bernard shapes the porcelain dome, while we create the brass incense holder and embossed leather coaster.

Unlocking a sensory journey, the Ceramic Incense Dome elevates incense burning. Enhance your space by placing your cone under the dome on the brass plate, marveling as smoke spirals upward in a mesmerizing chiminea effect.

Versatility lies at the heart of this creation. Flip the cup, and the brass holder transforms, embracing stick incense with grace. As fragrant tendrils fill the air, the magic of this piece unfolds in a symphony of scent and style.

Our collaboration with Eliana Bernard brings a unique dimension to this piece, reflecting the fusion of artistry and innovation. Experience the convergence of form and function, as you embrace the elegance of the Ceramic Incense Dome. Illuminate your surroundings with an ambiance that's both sensory and aesthetic, a testament to a collaboration that pushes boundaries and redefines incense rituals.

Dome Size: 3" x 2"

Use with incense cone:

Light an incense cone and let it burn for a few seconds before blowing in out and placing it on the brass piece. Cover with the dome and watch the smoke come out of the top.

Use with incense stick:

Flip the dome over and place the brass piece inside the cup. Place an incense stick in the brass piece and use as a traditional burner.

Surface: Unglazed exterior with gold lines, glossy glazed interior.

Every piece in the collection is made by hand and in small batches. Slight variations in size, shape and color are inherent to the handmade process.

Our friend Eliana Bernard crafts gorgeous vessels from porcelain, and we work with wood to create functional and beautiful design! It only makes sense for us to have joined forces to bring these collaborative items.

billy + jess

In 2011, Billy + Jessica launched Son of a Sailor out of their East Austin home. Before they were even married, they knew they wanted to join forces creatively. Over a decade later, Son of a Sailor has become a staple Central Texas brand with two brick & mortar locations. Get to know the hands behind the goods.

Deep in the heart of texas

While Jess was born in Texas, Billy "got here as fast as he could" as they say. Each having moved around the country more than their fair share, Billy and Jess met in San Francisco, and before too long Billy brought Jess back home.

A graphic designer and screenprinter by trade, Billy’s work takes on organic forms while Jessica’s background in fine art photography gives her a strong eye for framing, precision and composition. Son of a Sailor was born out of their shared love of thoughtful design and the ways it can spark joy in the lives of others.

made by hand

With the belief that a rising tide raises all ships, they work hard to preserve the art of the handmade. Much of the inspiration behind Son of a Sailor's products comes from the application of color, pattern and geometry to materials with a rich history and story.

In our shop, you’ll find jewelry and lifestyle goods ranging from beaded earrings and bracelets to painted keychains, playful home goods and men’s leather accessories—all of which are designed with the intent of bringing happiness to life’s daily necessities.
