Our Most Popular Gemstones

Son of A Sailor looks far and wide for the perfect crystals and gemstones to create our jewelry with, and few can rival the captivating beauty and possible metaphysical properties of Labradorite, Lepidolite, and Amazonite. These three gems each possess their own unique characteristics and are associated by many with numerous benefits and let's be real, they are just beautiful to look at.

Labradorite is renowned for its remarkable play of iridescent colors, known as labradorescence. This shimmering phenomenon captures the imagination and reflects the stone's deep metaphysical properties. Labradorite is often regarded as a stone of transformation and spiritual awakening.

Son of A Sailor offers the unisexy Shirin bracelet with Labradorite beads, and it’s one of our most popular varieties.  We also offer a fractured gemstone necklace with a totally unique polished sample of Labradorite and a crystal smudge dish made from this stone, perfect for holding sage bundles, matches or small treasures.

Lepidolite is a gentle and nurturing stone renowned for its soft lilac or lavender hues. It is often referred to as the stone of emotional balance and tranquility. Lepidolite is believed to alleviate stress, anxiety, and depression, bringing a sense of calmness and stability to the mind and heart.

Lepodolite is paired with cast bronze shapes and and 14k gold ear wires in our mesmerizing Marfa and Sedona earrings, and is also sold in raw samples in our stores.  The raw sample stones add a calming touch to desktops, workspaces and bookshelves.

Known for its mesmerizing shades of blue-green, Amazonite is often hailed as a stone of harmony and balance. Its serene energy is believed to soothe and calm the spirit, promoting a sense of tranquility and inner peace. This stone is thought to assist in alleviating stress, anxiety, and emotional trauma, allowing one to find clarity amidst the chaos of daily life.

Amazonite is one of our favorite gemstones to accessorize with.  It is featured prominently in the Sonora, Frances, Moab and Indio collections of necklaces and earrings and is also available in a Shirin gemstone bracelet and on our fractured gemstone necklace.
