The Irena expands from 8 inches to 12 inches, ensuring it will fit over most feet -- just pull open the sliding clasp to fit over your ankle. To tighten, simply pull and cinch closed.

Brass will tarnish with time and exposure to the elements, but may be polished to restore shine.

14k gold-filled will maintain it's thick layer of solid gold for a lifetime of wear. Simply clean with a soft cloth.

Jewelry should be removed before swimming or showering to help maintain condition.

The Irena anklet is named after Irena Sendler, Polish nurse and humanitarian. During World War II, Irena was the head of the children’s section of Zegota, the Polish Council to Aid Jews. Irena smuggled over 2,500 Jewish children away from Nazi-occupied Europe, saving more lives than any other individual during the Holocaust.
